4. Brazil releases guidelines for certification of built-in RF modules in terminal products. In early October 2022, the Brazilian National Telecommunications Authority (ANATEL) issued official document No. 218/2022, which provides operational guidelines for the certification of terminal products with built-in communication modules. Evaluation points: In addition to RF testing, safety, EMC, Cybersecurity and SAR (if applicable) all need to be evaluated during terminal product certification. If the certified RF module is used in the terminal product certification process, it needs to provide the authorization of the module manufacturer. Communication terminals and non-communication terminals have built-in RF modules, and the identification requirements will have different considerations. Precautions for terminal product maintenance process: If the authorization of the module test report is obtained, the terminal certificate is under maintenance, and there is no need to check whether the module certificate is valid. If you have been authorized to use the module authentication ID, the terminal certificate is under maintenance, and the module certificate needs to remain valid; the effective time of the guideline: 2 months after the release of the official document, Brazil OCD expects to use the guideline for compliance assessment in early December.
