Russian government registration certificate

According to the Russian official announcement dated June 29, 2010, food-related hygiene certificates were officially cancelled. From July 1, 2010, electrical and electronic products belonging to hygiene-epidemic surveillance will no longer require hygiene certification, and will be replaced by the Russian government’s registration certificate. After January 1, 2012, the Customs Union government registration certificate will be issued. The Customs Union government registration certificate is applicable in the customs union countries (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan), and the certificate is valid for a long time. A government registration certificate is an official document certifying that a product (things, materials, instruments, devices) fully complies with all hygiene standards established by the member states of the Customs Union. With a government registration certificate, the product can be legally produced, stored, transported and sold. Before the production of new products in the member states of the Customs Union, or when importing products from abroad to the countries of the Customs Union, a government registration certificate must be obtained. This registration certificate is issued by authorized staff of the Роспотребнадзор department according to the established specifications. If the product is produced in a member state of the Customs Union, the manufacturer of the product can submit an application for a government registration certificate; if the product is produced in a country other than a member of the Customs Union, the manufacturer or importer (according to the contract) can apply for it.
