EAEU 043 is the regulation for fire and fire protection products in the EAC certification of the Russian Federation Customs Union. The technical regulation of the Eurasian Economic Union “Requirements on Fire and Fire Extinguishing Products” TR EAEU 043/2017 will come into effect on January 1, 2020. The purpose of this technical regulation is in order to ensure the fire safety of human life and health, property and the environment, and to warn consumers of misleading behavior, all fire protection products entering Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and other customs union countries must apply for the EAC certification of this regulation.
The EAEU 043 regulation determines the mandatory requirements for firefighting products to be implemented by the Eurasian Economic Union countries, as well as the labeling requirements for such products, to ensure the free circulation of such products in the Union countries. The EAEU 043 regulations apply to fire extinguishing products that prevent and reduce the risk of fire, limit the spread of fire, the spread of fire risk factors, put out fire, save people, protect people’s life and health and property and environment, and reduce fire hazards and losses.
The scope of products to which EAEU 043 applies are as follows
- fire extinguishing agents;
- firefighting equipment;
- electrical installation accessories;
- fire extinguishers;
- self-contained fire extinguishing installations;
- fire boxes, hydrants;
- robotic fire extinguishing devices;
- personal protective firefighting equipment;
- special protective clothing for firefighters;
- personal protective equipment for firefighters’ hands, feet and heads;
- tools for work;
- other equipment for firefighters;
- firefighting equipment;
- products for filling openings in fire barriers (such as fire doors, etc.);
- functional technical devices in smoke extraction systems.
Only after confirming that the fire extinguishing product complies with this technical regulation and other technical regulations and applying for certification, the product is allowed to circulate in the Eurasian Economic Union market.
