Uganda PVOC certification

Commodities exported to Uganda must implement the pre-export conformity assessment program PVoC (Pre-Export Verification of Conformity) implemented by the Uganda Bureau of Standards UNBS. Certificate of Conformity COC (Certificate of Conformity) to prove that the goods meet the relevant technical regulations and standards of Uganda.

The main commodities imported by Uganda are machinery, transportation equipment, electronic products, second-hand clothing, medicines, food, fuel and chemicals mainly including medicines. Fuels and pharmaceuticals account for a growing share of total imports due to rising international prices. Uganda’s imports mainly come from Kenya, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Japan, India, the United Arab Emirates, China, the United States, and Germany.

Uganda PVOC certification application process
Step 1 The exporter submits the application form RFC (Request for Certificate Form) to a third-party certification body authorized and recognized by the Ugandan government. And provide product quality documents such as test reports, quality system management certificates, factory quality inspection reports, packing lists, proforma tickets, product pictures, packaging pictures, etc. Step 2 The third-party certification agency reviews the documents, and arranges inspection after the review. The inspection is mainly to check whether the packaging, shipping marks, labels, etc. of the product meet the Ugandan standards. Step 3: Uganda PVOC customs clearance certificate will be issued after document review and inspection pass.

Uganda PVOC inspection requirements
1. Bulk goods are 100% completed and packed; 2. Product label: manufacturer or exporter importer information or brand, product name, model, MADE IN CHINA logo; 3. Outer box mark: manufacturer or exporter importer information or Brand, product name, model, quantity, batch number, gross and net weight, MADE IN CHINA logo; 4. On-site inspection: The inspector inspects the product quantity, product label, box mark and other information on site. And randomly sample to see the products.

1.Route A-testing and inspection certification is suitable for products with low export frequency. Route A means that the products shipped need to undergo product testing and on-site inspection at the same time to confirm that the products meet relevant standards, key requirements or manufacturing specifications. This certification path applies to all commodities exported by traders or manufacturers, and also applies to all trading parties.
2. Route B – product registration, inspection and certification is applicable to similar products that are exported repeatedly. Route B is to provide a rapid certification procedure for products with reasonable and stable quality through product registration by PVoC authorized institutions. This method is especially suitable for suppliers who frequently export similar goods.
3. Route C-product registration is suitable for products that are exported frequently and in large quantities. Route C is only applicable to manufacturers who can prove that they have implemented a quality management system in the manufacturing process. The PVoC authorized agency will review the production procedures of the product and register the product frequently. , A large number of export suppliers, this approach is especially suitable.
