Introduction to Customs Union CU-TR Certification

The Customs Union, Russian Таможенный союз (TC), is based on the agreement signed by Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan on October 18, 2010 “Common guidelines and rules on the technical specifications of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation”, The Customs Union Committee is committed to formulating uniform standards and requirements to ensure product safety. One certification is common to many countries, thus forming the CU-TR certification of the Russia-Belarus-Kazakhstan Customs Union. The unified mark is EAC, also called EAC certification. At present, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan have also joined the Customs Union to implement CU-TR certification uniformly. All products within the scope of Customs Union certification enter the Customs Union market and are forced to apply for CU-TR certification. CU-TR certification replaces the original country’s GOST certification.

Types of certification of the Customs Union CU-TR

The CU-TR certificate can be divided into two types of certificates according to the nature of the product, the CU-TR certificate and the CU-TR declaration of conformity: 1. CU-TR certificate: a certificate of conformity issued by a certification body certified and registered by the Customs Union. Generally for products with higher safety requirements, it may involve factory audit or sample delivery requirements. 2. CU-TR Declaration of Conformity: On the basis of the participation of the customs union certification body, the applicant makes a declaration of conformity for its own products. Generally, for products with lower safety requirements, only companies registered in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan can be used as licensees. (Wo card can provide Russian representative)

CU-TR Certification validity period

Single batch certificate: applicable to one order contract, the supply contract signed with the CIS countries shall be provided, and the certificate shall be signed and shipped according to the order quantity agreed in the contract. 1-year, three-year, 5-year certificate: can be exported multiple times within the validity period.

CU-TR Certification Process

1. Fill in the application form, confirm the product name, model, customs code, etc.; 2. Confirm the type of certification according to the product information and customs code; 3. Prepare technical data, write safety basis, technical passport, etc.; 4. Arrange sample testing or factory Audit (if necessary); 5. Data submission agency; 6. Assist the rectification agency to feedback problems; 7. Issue the draft certificate to assist the customer to confirm; 8. After confirmation, issue the original certificate; 9. Paste the EAC logo on the product, Copy of certificate for customs clearance.

According to the background color of the nameplate, you can choose whether the marking is black or white. The size of the marking depends on the manufacturer’s specifications, and the basic size is not less than 5mm.

Regulations for CU-TR Certification

According to the requirements of the CU-TR certification of the Customs Union, different products are subject to conformity assessment according to regulatory requirements.
