Amazon FBA has strict requirements for product labeling and packaging.
If the relevant specifications are not followed, it is easy to cause the goods to be rejected.
I. Product labeling requirements
1. SKU label size: Generally required to be less than or equal to 75mm×75mm, but there may be slight differences in different markets and categories.
If the label size is too small, the barcode and text information may be blurred, making it difficult for the scanning device to read accurately;
if the size is too large, it may affect the label posting or be confused with other labels, which may lead to rejection.
2. The information must be clear, complete and identifiable: The SKU, ASIN and other information on the label must be clear, complete and identifiable.
If the label is blurred, stained, damaged or blocked, the warehouse scanning equipment cannot read the information, which will cause the goods to be rejected.
In addition, if the label required by Amazon is not affixed to the product or outer box, it will also face rejection.
3. Label posting position: The label should be affixed to the middle of the largest surface of the outer box, avoiding affixing to the seal, corners or bends.
If the label is not posted in the right position, it may cause difficulty in scanning or be easily damaged or worn during transportation, affecting the reading of information.
4. Label background color: The label is usually required to have a white background. If other color backgrounds are used, it may affect scanning and recognition, increasing the risk of rejection.
5. Overweight label: For goods that exceed a certain weight standard, overweight labels such as “Team Lift” and “Mech Lift” must be posted, and they must be printed in color, with each side not less than 8cm.
II. Packaging requirements
1. Packaging materials:
(1) Brand new and clean corrugated boxes should be used first, and old boxes with damage or tape residue should be avoided. Boxes with other brand logos are prohibited.
(2) Shockproof materials such as bubble film and pearl cotton should be used as fillers. Materials that are easy to scatter, such as shredded paper and foam particles, are prohibited.
(3) If glass containers, non-pressure-resistant soft cartons, or other packaging materials that do not meet the requirements are used, or if insufficient fillers cause the goods to shake and collide during transportation, they will be rejected.
2. Packaging integrity: The outer box or product packaging should not be damaged, deformed, or torn, which may cause damage to the goods during transportation. Otherwise, Amazon will reject such goods.
3. Size and weight:
(1) The size and weight of a single product or outer box should not exceed the limits set by Amazon.
Generally, the longest side of a single product should not exceed 63.5cm and the weight should not exceed 22.5kg.
(2) If it exceeds the limit, it may be regarded as an oversized product. It is necessary to post corresponding warning labels and ensure that the packaging structure is firm.
3. Special category packaging: Electrical products should be packaged in anti-static packaging, liquid products should be leak-proof, and fragile products should use sufficient cushioning materials. Violation of Amazon’s packaging safety requirements for special products will result in rejection.
4. Packaging:
(1) Do not use large staples, nylon fiber tape, protective plates, cardboard, etc. to fix or seal cartons.
(2) The transparent tape covering the box seam cannot exceed 5cm (Amazon’s new inspection item in 2025).
